Leaneys Creek (2.4 ha)
This property is new to the Milton Rocks project with the owners very keen to create a wildlife corridor (long term) along the entire 1.24 km of Leaneys Creek which flows through their farm. This project will start the rehabilitation of Leaneys Creek by protecting and revegetating 398m of the riparian corridor which is located downstream of Croobyar Dairy. Limited vegetation exists along the length of Leaneys Creek, with some isolated Forest Red Gums, Swamp Paperbark, Black Wattle and Blue Box found within the corridor profile. Blue Box (Euc. bauerina) is a new species for the Monzonite, occurring as isolated trees and a small patch at the southern end of the property. Seed has been collected by volunteers (August 2016) and it will be planted in time to increase its range and presence in the landscape. No. of tubestock planted: 1,690 (June 2018) Case Study |
